Just been to Gloucester docks to see the four tall masted ships still in after the Gloucester Festival which we missed because of our holiday. We then went in to Gloucester Quays the new designer outlet centre. So far we are impressed, nicely designed spacious and airy and some very good shops. Still a lot to open plus the restaurants in the second phase. Worth a visit if you are local, but if you are driving in from outside I would wait a month or two until all the units are open. Some of the shops open are:
M&S Outlet
Hush puppies,
Denby,
Regatta,
Togs,
cotton Traders
The Works
Gap Outlet
Bennetts Shoes
Daniels Shoes
Roman
Next outlet
Past times
Lots more that I can't remember.

Lots more still to come Including eventually Sainsburys.

It is not far to walk from gloucester town centre and the cathedral, we walked it today as we went in by bus. Car parking is £3 for up to 4 hours and £5 for up to 7 hours - i think that is right. There is also a park and ride not sure how much that costs.

Hello Ann and everyone,

I haven't been yet Ann and I am in walking distance of it. Just one point in case it matters to some people. I believe that the shopping centre doesnt open till 10 am. Not sure if that is correct.

Yes you are right Anne 1000. worth a look if you are local but if not worth waiting for a few more to open. Mind you three coach loads were tere lunch time today.
Thought the big wheel was impressive too and from The Quays entrance you look straight through the wheel at the Cathedral, very effective and we actually heard people off the coach remarking 'Ooh look there is the cathedral!
Think Glos may have got something right for once!
