Hi Dutch,
I have seen your posts and you seem to have had this problem for quite a long time.

Mummo has come up with a good idea. Jan knows how you are suffering - so write it all down and get to the doctor and have Jan explain it all to him in Dutch. If still no relief, try another doctor.

I went to a very nice Hungarian doctor who spoke perfect English, but after three years of trying to make her understand what was happening to me, I eventually went to another doctor, who understood me better and took the right action.

thank you all for your comments which are right in many ways, but as Lindy said it is higher over here,i have to have my shoes made for me otherwise i would,nt walk far they cost in English money 750 pounds,my M.I.L who is 75 still works as they dont get anything like they do in England or other countries she has to pay 225 euros per month rent thats half of what she use to pay when Dad was alive, they get no help for the heating she has to pay in full for her glasses,if she did,nt work she could,nt afford to pay for everything, she has 5 part time jobs we want her to give some of them up,but she wont she cant sit in the house all the time, but once the weather gets nice i,ll go out with the dog for walks not to far,as Jan has threaten to lock my pc because i spend to much behind it and its not good for my legs

Might I just add that I understand where Joyce is coming from.
I have Portuguese nationality by marriage so am entitled to your equivalent of the NHS.

Up until now I have to admit to never using the NHS as we could afford a private doctor. Unfortunately with the crises and both boys moving back home we no longer can afford to. A private consultation cost me 65 euros, if you throw in blood tests, scan etc., which I had, set me back over 150 euros. Now that was a couple of years ago.

My FIL had to have an operation a few years back and as he was not interested in going on the waiting list for an operation he went private, which cost him thousands of euros.

Bare in mind that the minimum wage in this country is just over 425 euros.

The cost of living is so much higher in Holland so I can only imagine how much it would cost to see a private doctor and have treatment over there, if you do not have health insurance or no NHS to fall back on.

Have a good day everyone.

Lindy ;)))

Morning Dutch, l am so sorry your still in pain but was thinking about your problem with the language, could you not get Jan to write down everything you need to tell the doctor so at least nothing will be left out, maybe there isn't anymore they can do but you should be virtually pain free and insist you get the right help, hope things work out, take care, x

Morning Dutch,

I am so sorry to hear that you have still not sorted out your problem.
However, I have to agree with everyone else, no matter how harsh it sounds but something has to be done about it.

The only option I see here is for you to return to the U.K. and get a proper diagnoses and treatment.

Love Lindy

Hi Dutch, don't shoot me down in flames either but Suemaid is right in what she says. It does sound contrary if that's the right word, but....I know you well enough to know we are the only people you can talk to owing to language problems. That doesn't stop you going to the docs though and asking him again to send you for tests. Something is wrong with your back, be it sciatica or slipped discs or whatever to cause you so much pain in your legs. You need to sort it out love for your own good.
I'm sure you are going to ring me to tell me off but can I have my breakfast first please lol.
Seriously though, we are worried about you so please see doc again, we can stop nagging you then.

Hi SueM
ive been the docters and theres nothing he can do for me,and dont realy mean to complain as i know there is people worse of than me,none of my niebours speak English so cant talk to them i was phoning my family and friends in England .but hubby was,nt very pleased about phone bill 180 pound for the month and over here its quite different than England ,theres no N.H.S we have to pay health insurance, you cant go to the hospital unless your docter gives you anote to go,but if its serious you ring up the hospital they ask whats wrong, then they phone you back to tell you if you can come to the hospital, have been this morning and i had pulled musel in my arm ,going to see the physo, its funny in one way when i had cancer many years ago i told nobody at all

I'll probably be shot down in flames but Dutch I fail to see why you come on here complaining constantly about your aches and pains but totally ignore the people who seem to care enough about you to urge you to see a doctor.

Can't you get an interpreter even if it's on the phone while you are in with a doctor? You can't carry on like you have been.

Sorry your arm is bad now but maybe if it makes you get back to the doc quickly it will be a good thing it happened. If you can't get on line maybe Jan will let us know how you are.

Take care,

Dutch, you keep saying that and putting things off, you will be like a wet rag by your birthday and not able to enjoy it at all, if you keep losing sleep. Believe me, I know how lack of good sleep can affect you, having suffered with fm which messes up sleep quality, for ten years or more.

Do make another apptmt and get this dealt with now before you end up collapsing or something - Jan would prefer to take a little time off now that have to stay home with you or come to the hospital to see you which could happen if you don't get checked out properly.

There must be a receptionist or someone in the practice who can speak English so they could translate at your consultation.

Hi Joyce, sorry you have had another bad night, this won't do you any good losing all this sleep. Get yourself back to that doctor and tell him painkillers aren't the answer, you want further investigation before the weekend or soon after.

i am off to bed now, hope you can get some rest later on.
