I have my own shorthand when i do the PTA minutes doubt if anyone else would understand them till i type them up lol.

Ros
dont envy you hated doing interviews maybe cos i cant judge people very well (one of my things i wish i could change cos it ends up with me getting hurt by people) and could end up with some very bad decisions.

Could you not have a piece for them to minute and then get them to read it back to you make sure they did ok.

Ask what they think is the point of taking minutes., how important are they and why. Do any of them do shorthand? I take minutes for a meeting and sometims think it would be better if i could do shorthand.

oops sorry misread.....lol perhaps in that case:

What interests you about the role?

What makes you tick?

CATHKIN

CATHKIN Report 10 Jun 2009 19:14

it`s only a wee part time job , taking minutes at monthly meetings , then typing up and distributing to other commitee members

What can you bring to the role?

Why do you want to work for us?

What do think the role involves?

Where do you want to be career wise in 2 years time?

Have you applied for any other jobs?

if so

What sort of work?

and finally

Beans or tomatoes with breakfast? (no right or wrong answer but it checks if they can answer questions on the spot as opposed to a possibly well rehearsed interview performance)

I am interviewing , rather than having an interview, along with the Chairperson of our local Community Council for a Minute Taker. Any ideas for questions to ask the candidates , they all have degrees , too qualified if you ask me for this job, but I do not know their circumstances as to why they want this job -it pays £40 for 4 hours work, Ros xx
