What can I do about memory loss - I am very lucky - no hot flushes now or other symptons of the change. Dont sleep well but am use to that. It is my memory that causes me the most problems.
I bought Gingko but quite honestly I forget to take them!
Any ideas
Thanks
Chris

What's a Memory?

I don't think I ever had one, where can I get one from?

Put the Gingko near the kettle where you can see them. Maybe even mark the pack "TAKE ME"

And/or write it on the calendar. for each day, tick the reminder when you take the gingko.

Which reminds me ... I haven't taken my medication for Saturday yet.

Anyone got a spare memory?

Use it or lose it!!

What was the question?

Ever walk out of a room to do something. Forget what it was you were about to do. Walk back into the room and forget why you walked back into the room!!

Oh I see that's quite normal is it. Hooooray, I'm normal!!

Good Grief,

It sounds as if you are all talking about ME.!...lol.

Seriously though, I find it very frustrating and drive my sons crazy.

They both work shifts and I can never remember who is working what shift, even with both their timetables stuck with magnets on the side of the fridge.

I have even started to confuse their names as well, something I have never done before and would laugh when someone else did.

Maybe I should change my board name.

A very confused Lindy :(

I was in M & S yesterday and desperately scrabbling for my purse in my bag. Heart was racing as I was sure it had been stolen. The very nice, kind, girl at the checkout whispered...it's in your hand......

Chris, they say, to keep your memory up to scratch join a Bridge Club, do Crosswords and become a churchgoer. `Wellll I do crosswords:-)) lol BC XX

Chris I'm just as bad, I read somewhere that if you repeat something 6 times to yourself, it will go into your long term memory - which is not normally affected by age. When I told this to my friend, she said, I don't want the fact that I wanted a loaf of bread on June 10th 2009 to go in my long term memory!!

Carry a notebook with you and write things down ...

My to do lists occasionally take over my life but if I do write stuff down I then stop worrying about trying to remember it which helps.

Thank you everyone for your helpful tips. Maybe I should tie the gingko round my neck!! lol
I do make notes a lot as that does help - but then you have to remember where the note is - so a notebook sounds like a good idea
Thanks everyone

B C has the right idea, keep the mind active with things like crossword puzzles ,and those little online games which you find all over the place.
Brain food such as ,fish which has a good amount of omega 3 and 6 ,and a good curry with plenty of tumeric in oncea week will help a lot too.

Thank goodness for that I thought it was me going mad!!

I mix my boys names up, and even harder at school, can't remember names of children in year 6 who have been there since reception....
Hope for me yet then......!!!

I do struggle more now with names and such, names of things and flowers/plants etc as well as people's names but think it is the fm and the constant tiredness as well as stress.

Just want to say, don't use gingko biloba if you are on warfarin, it is too dangerous to mix the two.

i have been doing the Take a Break comps every week for many years, since the magazine first started altho I did 'take a break' for a while when I was too busy to find time to do the puzzles, but now I do them each week and send off the list as well as add it on line, to give myself two chances of winning a prize. No luck yet on those ones but you never know....
