What punishment is CORRECT for breaking the law .....
Please feel free to say each crime like Rape murder and stealing stuff.......

Would also be interesting to hear what age this should start

I don't believe in capital punishment. It doesn't serve as a deterrant - death row is full of murderers in the U.S. The boys didn't deserve to die - thieves or not.

well i agree with it for pedos n murderers there the scum of the earth and do not deserve to be here

they go in the system "get help" and 9 times out 10 come out and re-offend

i say bring back natinal service

and make prisons like they were years ago hard graft not playstations n days out

I do agree that prison shouldn't be an easy ride - but playstations etc. don't make up for the lack of freedom.

I do believe in harder punishment maybe first timers would think twice...
It was a high price to pay for stealing .. murders and rapist dont die doing their crime ..

I agree there Stray!! National Service would instill some discipline. Also, I think prisoners should have plenty of hard graft work wise instead of them sitting on their backside all day playing on their PC's.PS's and the likes......it's supposed to be a punishment, instead alot do reoffend so prison isn't much of a deterrent for most offenders.

Failing that, tie them up in a chair in solitary confinement and play

I don't agree with putting anyone to death - because it is so final and if the person is found to be innocent at a later date, it's too late to do anything about it. I cite the case of Timothy Evans hanged for murder which John Christy committed.

I do, however, believe in an "eye for an eye". If a person commits murder, he/she stops someone from living out the rest of their life - so they, too, should be shut away as punishment, for the rest of their life - not 20 years with time off for good behaviour - I mean the rest of their life.

Other crimes should be punishable in a similar way according to the loss and/or hurt caused by the crime, and paedophiles should be locked away where they can't offend again - ever.

An eye for an eye, etc.

Also, National Service.

I don't agree with national service not every job suits everyone, I also think that to join to serve our country should be done for the want of not force too, however I do think there are other areas that could serve more possitively.

As for Mel's thread never have I suggested that they deserved to die in one for abetter word I think more Mel put up the thread to milk the sitution, that doesnt mean she isnt sad or in pain because of the dealths I am sure she is, but how many people thought it was maybe her BIL? Why did she feel the need to post it on here? When she could of done so for her friends to comment on one of her blogs or in PM? In my opinion she by the nature of the first post " if it offends or please let me post this " she was asking for her much needed attension.

WE all have different opinions about what how and why so if .....someone here does something wrong we need to pull together and show kindness ....coz quite often it "involves" someones feelings and NOT the person themselves.......
