I was once 35 years old with a husband and 2 kids under 6 years of age and wham life took over.... no husband (dead).. Life took over.

Ok that was in 1988 and life is still not a bed of roses. I am now 56 years of age. I am proud of my boys .

Extended family..... that is their lot.

I love my family but I am not responsible for them......

Dear Libby and Kempinasunhat,

Hello ladies,

If the problem is baby-sitting, explain gently but firmly that you love seeing the grandchildren but you do have other things that YOU have to do in your life.

You are not there as a unpaid babysitter or for grown up kids to come
by and expect you to drop everything for them.

You are entitled to your own life, interests, friends.
Grown up kids have a problem realising that their parents are human beings.

Very best wishes to you both.
xx
