Nothing. I don't remember any of them ever swearing at me. Had a good few rows mind. LOL

mine are only little at the mo
so have to polite to everyone lol

My adult kids don't swear at me but they come out with things like "aw come on Mum - give it a rest". If I'd said that to my Mum there would've been hell to pay. I wasn't allow to say "hell" either lol

My children are still young but i did notice that they do get away with a lot more than i did with my mum.

But i do know what you mean though cos my sisters 2 are in their 20's & i see that

My children are the 'fashion' police!!
If we go shopping together and I choose something they don't like, they'll let me know!!
They only do it 'cos they love me though, it's a bit like having my own personal stylists.
I have been banned (by them) from entering the Edinburgh Woollen Mill because 'You're not that old mum', and am allowed to buy whatever I want (within reason) from 'Fat Face'!!

Actually, I'm quite flattered - 'Fat Face' describes itself as selling
' casual lifestyle clothing for everyday adventures'!!
I'm also allowed 'free rein' in Per Una - but not M & S.

I started following their advice and must admit my clothes look - and feel better now!
I would never have commented on my mum's clothing!

I was going shopping with our younger son a few years ago, and he looked me up and down and said " you are not wearing that are you?"
I would never have said that to my Mum, nor half the things both of them say to me

I ask my Son in Law and Daughters in Law to call me Sally and my OH by his name, instead of Mum and Dad..........after my Mum passed it almost choked me to call Gertie, my MiL Mum, and asked them if I could call them by their christian names instead.......Gertie was fine and understood, but I think George was a bit miffed......

mine always moan about food we give them neither of us would of dared moaning about what tea we got.

Eldest does like telling me how i should tell the other two off more can imagine what would of happened if i had dared to criticise the way they bought us up

over here I find its far more common for kids to call their parents by their christian names. I found it quite alien at first...

i call my mum n dad nana and grandad lol
since i had the kids
but even when the children arent there i still call them nana and grandad, coz its just habit

raises a few eyebrows wen were out clubbing and i shout nana ont he dance floor tho lol

Not having children ..( natures choice not mine) I often watched the way friends brought their children up and I often cringed.
Hard to say that I would have done different but I can say that I would have been more lenient with mine, then my folks were with me, not to the extent of allowing them to answer back or swear at adults. I would have wanted to know where they were all the time but that would have been a society worry not a social one.
