Local newspaper archives are a good place to start - should be held at the local main library for the town in which he was tried and convicted |

Does anyone know how to research criminal records? All I know is the name 'George Gilding' and that he was at Reading gaol sometime between 1939 and 1950. I would be interested in court, jail or perhaps newspaper coverage. I just don't know where to start. Thanks! Louise |
