5 help requests I've answered in the last 4 days on various boards and not one reply back from the person asking for help, think I'll give up answering.

Wish members would read the guidelines for message board before they post duplicate threads.

I second that sentiment Brinsleys. On Friday last I was reading through the TTF board and saw a posting where someone was asking for information on a person. I thought the name being asked for was familiar, and had a quick look on 'Advanced Search', and found what I was looking for. So, I posted on the thread to that effect, and gave full instructions how the person could find this old thread for themselves. I didn't even get an acknowledgement of the information I had given, or that he would have a look at it. Later he posted another thread about the same question. A regular researcher, wwho had already answered on the original thread, admonished the poster for putting up another thread, and not using the information he had been given. he said he had, but it was of no use to him.
I can't help many people, as I do not have the knowledge, or access to sites that others have. But for once I thought I could have been of help to someone, in return for all the help I have been given over the two years I have been a member on GR. This has really put me off of getting involved again. I didn't exect profuse thanks, just an acknowlegement that the poster would look into the information I had given

Here, Here.

Also, make sure that you give as much information as you can, or already have found. Another of my pet hates is to see a response dismissing all the hard work with a comment saying it is of no help as they already knew that.

On any of the boards then please respond to any answers you receive. There's nothing more annoying than trying to answer a help question where the helper either imparts with knowledge they already have or the helper may even do a bit of research to help you solve your problem, then typing out the solution and then not getting any reply at all.
