I've always been torn between Amanda and Mandy and I answer to both.........having been " Amanda " on here for years I have just decided to come out as the real me and be " Mandy " .

A conundrum indeed. I have an Amanda in my tree, but records other than birth show as Mandy ........ I wonder how many of us confuse people by using a shortened version as our official name. I do but I changed mine by deed pole - not that that will help ancesters in the future lol.

Gets confusing doesn't it.

I know from my e-mails though where people are contacting me from because I use different names on different sites.
It helps me or I'd be lost! you know those Blonde/Senior moments.
I would struggle with a name change.
As I am really Patricia and was forced into changing my name on here years ago as there are rather a lot of us.
I get called Pat.....Tricia...... Patty..... Patsy...... and Tosh in the real world by different relations.
Think I'll stick with Tricia on here for now LOL

Now I come to think of it.....I did like Milly Molly Mandy books and wanted to have a dolly called Milly Molly Mandy :-))

Susan......it's funny you should mention Milly Molly Mandy . My Mum was a Molly and her Grandmother was an Amelia ( Milly ).
