I have been trying to get into my tree for weeks with out success.
Attempts to contact GR by email also fail. I get an error message if I try to do either of those things.
Attempts to edit my personal information also seem to fail.
I did try to take myself off continual automatic renewal payments, but could not.
Now my bank has kindly supplied me with a new bank card, My subs are due, but I could not change my bank details on here even if I wanted to. The site will not let me!

So GR, this email was a waste of ether!

Hello Ellan,

Sorry, we're having trouble renewing your Genes Reunited membership.

The reason we can't continue your membership automatically as you requested is probably because your card has changed or expired.

Go to our secure payment page here.

To renew your membership, grab your credit or debit card and go to our secure payment page. Membership is £9.95 GBP for 6 months and it takes less than a minute
You can then continue to send messages to other members and find shared ancestors.

There are now over 199,617,834 names on Genes Reunited.
So renew your membership to discover your family history.

Kind regards,

I guess you will have to whistle for it GR, oh and thank you for denying me access to my family tree.

Hi Ellan,
I hope you can get this sorted out before your membership expires.

Obviously this site is causing lots of problems with your computer.
Before you give in. Which browser are you using?

At the top of this page. Click on Help & About Internet Explorer ( or what the name of your browser is).

If it is Internet explorer you need version 7 or 8 to work properly on here.
If yours is before this. Upload version 7 (its a free download). Also Id recommend IEPro7 as an addd on (also free) this contains an ad blocker.
I think version 8 is free as well. But I believe there are gremlins with this.

Alternatively upload Mozzilla Firefox. This is also free & there is a free ad blocker which can be downloaded with this.

If all fails. Ensure you get a Gedcom file of your tree.
To do this. Go to just below the last post on this page & click on Import/export gedcom.
In the new screen click on the Export icon. GR will then e-mail you a Gedcom file of your tree.
Save this file to your computer (don't change the format) & you can upload this into a family tree program.

Steve.

Thanks for all your suggestions, unfortunately I have already tried all of them, to no avail.
I have no intention of struggling to pay GR another 6 months sub for a tree I can't access or for the priviledge of posting on boards I very rarely even look at, let alone post on.
The administrators of this site should stop boasting about how many members they have and start looking after them.

So it's goodbye from me
:o))
