For anyone interested in steam engines, and motorcycles, tonight's Top Gear has Jeremy Clarkson on the footplate of the Tornado, Richard Hammond on a Vincent Black Shadow and James May in a Jaguar XK120. They are in a race from London to Edinburgh.

Should be an interesting programme.

I'm loving it. Choo choo.

For my mum's 60th I took her on the Orient Express for the day.

It's an experience I would recommend to anyone.

Must be in the blood, four generations of railway workers in the family.

It was quite good - though I had hoped the whole programme would be about the various vehicles.

I have seen Tornado several times, as I live quite close to the East Coast Mainline, and we did have a Vincent Black Shadow back in the 1960s -1970s. It became impractical when we had two small children.

Happy memories.

Hey Jude!

Glad you and Vic enjoyed it.

Not sure about the Stig stuff - I don't usually watch the programme, but understand there has been some discussion about the Stig being lots of different people over a time. I'm sure someone else can tell you about that.

There was a rumour that he was the stig sometime ago but I'm not convinced either. I daren't type the name incase OH sees it. He's just got back from a field trip and hasn't seen TG yet. As he walked in the door I told him I knew who the Stig was!

Oh no! I have only just found out about this, so I missed it.

Didn't tell my sister and brother-in-law either. They went to Somerset to see and ride on the Tornado.
They took me with them too.

So now I feel bad about not telling them about it

Thanks Elizabeth,

have been away for a couple of days (doing family research) and have only just seen your message.

Luckily, this time early enough to pass the word on to my sister.

I am sure that she and her husband will enjoy watching,

Thanks again,

Tess
