Hello everyone

I'm fairly new to Genes Reunited and have a question. Can anyone tell me if there are 'profiles' on members or anyway I can tell how long ago a member last used the site, as you can on Ancestry?

The reason I'm asking is that I have a match on my tree that I'm absolutely sure is a cousin of mine and I sent him a message but the message hasn't been read so I wonder if he no longer uses the site.

Many thanks

Kim

Hiya Kim1958
Welcome to the boards !
I can't answer your question for definite but I don't think there are members profiles or anything like that.
Sometimes you just have to give it time or resend your message.
People don't always get reminders that they have a message on genes or don't check the site often.
Is there anyone else on the site that has your ? cousins name in their tree ?
Good luck and perservere
Joan

Hi Joan & Rita

Thanks for the warm welcome!

The member in question doesn't appear on any other tree other than mine and his, but strangely his brothers are not on his. I found this strange but I'm certain it must be him as I searched all the surname's born in Yorkshire between two dates and he was the only person of that name born, and the birth year is absolutely correct.

Thanks for your advice - I'll leave it a few weeks and then if I haven't heard I'll re-send the message.

Kind regards

Kim

Hi Kim

If his brothers are still alive then they would not be on his tree (without their permission) it's the Data Protection Act. His PC might be broken. Do you know the area that he lives in then you could look him up and telephone.

It could be that he has changed his e mail address and not notified Genes. But people do sometimes take quite a long time to reply/read messages.

Anyway, welcome to the message boards, always nice to 'meet' new members. Hope you eventually make contact with him.

Hi Kim, I have access to the 2009 Elec Register. If you PM me your cousins name, I'll take a look for you:)
