I have just received the Royal Naval records for my great grandfather and....
...He was a Portsmouth based sailor - Snap
...He was 5ft 10ins - Snap
...He lived at Buckland Street, Portmouth - Snap
...He had tattoos on both legs - Snap
...He joined the Coastguard when he left the Navy - Almost I got to the final interview stage

No Colin, I haven't found anyone like me........perhaps that is fortunate.......for them......lol....

What coincidences and do you have any photos passed down to compare yourself with him.........I know sometimes on WDYTYA, you see old photos and you can see the family resemblance....

Hi Sally - yes we do have some pictures and the family resemblance isnt great with me but he is the spitting image of my eldest brother.
I knew of course that he had been in the navy but the records gave the information that made a tingle go up my spine...lol forgot to say his behaviour throughout his career was described as Very Good and Snap so was mine (or rather I didnt get caught)
