Has the automatic update automatically REMOVED IE6 before it attempted to install IE8?

Thanks Bob. Funny thing is neither IE6 nor IE6 are in that list. And the "show update" bix is ticked.

Tracey, go into control panel, add/remove programs, and you should be able to un-install IE8
IE 6 will still be resident!

(make sure that "show All updates" tab is fixed.....)

I am happy with IE6, but IE8 just started to automatically install itself as an automatic windows update WITHOUT my authorisation.

I cancelled it as soon as it started, so the process didn't complete. But I'm now getting "restart computer for changes to take place" messages.

Does this mean that I will have no internet explorer browser next time I turn on my computer? I'm scared to turn it off now. (I do also have firefox but don't like it on all my sites, nor for saving images.)
