repeat of Dr Who, in it there was a moment when he could have read a diary of his future...if you found one, would you read it or walk away ?

If you had read such a diary say 5 years ago, would you having seen those five years change any action ? ( supposing you could lol).

Sally Report 23 Jun 2009 20:23

Not sure because 5 years ago Dad was with us, and I had my horse and my cats and a whole different life altogether.......it is strange to think how much my life has changed in that time........and what will be in the next 5.....

Well the past 5 years have been a trial to say the least.

So I think I could change the time I gave to people. and even make time for myself...Like Sally says she lost her Dad, well then maybe if you knew it was going to happen you could do more things and make more memories.

Good one Rose beause it does make you think, what would we change. Or would it be best to leave well alone.

well that's an interesting thought Rose. both in the real world and in the Dr Who world :-)

5 years ago I had only just split with my ex, so it would have been good to know that I got through it with all my faculties lol although not so cheery to find out I still haven't replaced him ;-). it would have helped me a lot with regards to mum's estate and selling her house - I would have known about the credit crunch and the pitfalls we encountered. but there would be lots of things that I wouldn't want to know about - sitting around waiting for inevitable bad things to happen is no fun! and sometimes it's so nice to get a happy surprise too.

as far as the good Doctor, the most puzzling thing about that episode remains ... when/how did he and prof river song meet. especially when he isn't going to BE the doctor for much longer! I hope someone remembers to resolve that one before wotsisname takes over :-)

A lot has happened over the last five years - I lost my father, 4 grandchildren arrived, my daughter's marriage broke up. Good and not so good things have happened and I'm not sure if I would have wanted to know some of what was to come. The next five years? Let's just see what happens shall we?

Maz, he's probably met her recently while he havent been watching, although I thought she met him in a different skin

Rose, I wouldn't hesitate to read a five year diary into my future cos it might mean I could breath out about some things that have got me tensed up:) If I had been able to read about the previous five years, I might have been able to have reacted differently in a few situations and stopped things going awry:) Being a reactionary instinctive sort of person I have shitloads of regrets lol

lol Uggers reactionary and instinctive? you DO mean ME don't you!

I have been thinking about this, whilst watching telly ( about retailing) and came to the conclusion that if I could have read a diary 5 years ago, I would have and done a few things very differently . I would for example have sold my house 3 years earlier, which would have made a huge difference in what I am doing now,in all aspects of life.

Personally i would still take some of the gambles I have, but taken them more ...cautiously..... but no ,wouldn't swap those moments of absolute joy even though the absolute misery has been equal to them.

If I could look at that diary today ,for the next five years, would I? oh yes lol.
