Hi

I didn't see rain on the weather forecast on ITV West Jude. Hope it is only a light shower if it has to rain at all, we had enough today to last!

Liz, shows i don't watch neighbours now doesn't it? Don't even know which channel it is on.

Quite agree.....l don't condemn either, but what if the one you give money to is on a rehab scheme, it could mess things up for them. l suppose as you say the best thing is to give them food.
Yes Bruce was suffering was'nt he, hope it does make him rethink.

Hows your garden Liz....l won't forgot those seeds, do you want some yellow thistle later aswell??

More rain due tomorrow....grrr:o(

Did my charity shop stint today, really enjoyed it, l'm now the Linen Lady and from next week the childrens clothes aswell:o))

I don't condemn the alcoholism and drug taking of homeless people as they have so many demons to face and such a hard time of it, they must need something to blot everything out. Those of us who suffer with depreession and such have various ways of coping, but we mostly have loving families around us to help or at least a roof over our heads and things to distract us, on the streets there is nothing but the same old, same old, and the worry of finding somewhere safe and dry to get a few hours sleep. If booze or drugs help them sleep on a cold pavement, who are we to judge? What future do they have unless then can find someone to stand by them and help them.
Bruce wotsit got very emotionally involved, didn't he, and he could see how his own drinking could become a problem I think, althe he didn't want to face up to it. Having seen him on Wife Swap and seen the way he lives, with his wife looking after him so well, he might have a rethink now and be a little more help to her and spend a little less time in the pub!

I do try and give food or coffee rather than money if I see someone in need.

Liz....l wondered the same thing as to whether their families recognised anyone. Makes you think differently about homeless now. l have always wanted to help but not wanted to encourage any bad habits. One big issue chap l know goes straight to the offlicense at the end of his shift!!!!

Hi Jude, well most of the time I record Neighbours as o.h. wouldn't want that on while he is around, if it is the week he is on early shift, I watch it when I go to bed at 5am while he is getting ready to go off to work.

I just watched the Rich and Homeless programme, as I recorded that too, it was interesting, so sad to see some of those folk whose families let them down. I wonder if their relatives will watch it and recognise their kinfolk. Just off to finish watching the last part now.

Jude, I used to watch neighbours but gave up when it switched to Ch 4. I do still watch Emmerdale, Eastenders and Coronation Street, however, when I am away I don't really bother about it and soon catch up.

Daff, did you enjoy your potatoes, we had some baby new ones from T***o and they were really tasty.

Jude - again - I was making cards this afternoon too, well mainly one card, it took nearly all afternoon to make grandson's 21st.
I also did some gardening, put some plants in and did some pruning, tidying up etc.

I have been for a sleep, talked to a friend on the phone, and had a visit from sister, who has brought me some freshly dug up potatoes that my 15 year old niece has grown.... I have them on boiling as I type... will have loads of butter with them when they are done.... nothing quite like it!!

Love

Hello...........l've been busy too not just sat and waited for peeps to post...lol Another load of washing on line, making cards, trying to find out who needed the doc opposite and talking to daughter and grandaughter on phone:o))) still don't don't know who needed doctor. Hope all is well .

Too hot to be out in the garden Ann, even with the gazebo up.....my grasses are self seeded by the birds seed, we always scatter enough in one area to encourage it, but you probably mean the more ornate type!!

Going to look at your threads now Shirley and Liz:o)

Lindy.....l watch Neighbours, just love it:o)))
