For my Dad I had a few quotes - all came to the house ( Dad was in hospital at the time ) and said it could be done with no issues

Only one company also went to visit Dad in hospital and they measured him, his height, and more importantly they meansured the length of his leg from the hip to the knee - this was to see if the stairs were wide enough to take him once he was sat on the seat ................. it wasn't - they advised it was not possible to fit the chair lift with Dad on it and have it move without his knee's scraping on the wall............... thankgos they did this as no-one else bothered

The company was called Clark and Partners and were brilliant to go out of their way to the hospital and be totally honest with us

OH works for Adult Care Services with the council. I don't know the circumstances but get in touch with the local SS they may supply equipment free of charge to aid independence.

My sister has a stair lift but it is straight up, can't think what make hers is but she paid for it herself. It went wrong once and they came out quickly to fix it for her.

I don't recall any of my clients having problems.... other than the space for able people to walk upstairs was reduced... but I have a feeling that the new ones have resolved that a bit... oh, and they will be able to fit them around virtually any type of staicase!!

Love

Following on from my wet room thread.....

My relative will need one that deals with a corner at the top of the stairs.

Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with stairlifts?
