Cleaning my bedroom tonight and I emptied the hoover and as I began I could smell burning..I wasnt going that fast...so I shouted Itsmytelly......he came and twiddle with it and pulled a little plastic bit from the underneth and glared at me...he said " no wonder watch wot yoru doing" So I glared back and said " It wasnt me I hardly use the thing ".......Oppps...

I've been the down fall of many a vaccum cleaner in my time . I once sucked up a bunch of keys.....not little yale keys , big back door keys...lol
They where stuck in the motor !!.........lol

Haven't managed to kill the Dyson yet.

Mandy, how to kill a dyson..........

do a lot of decorating with pollyfilla.......sand down the walls and pick up the pollyfilla dust with the dyson........

Dysons arent too keen on any kind of 'serious' dust!!

When we moved into out brand new house there was loads of building dust still settling..... Our 1 yo Dyson was repaired 3 times in the 2nd year and eventually gave up the ghost.....

Mind you we tried something different for a while and soon bought another one!!!

My landlord did that Bob.

Dust blocks up filter.
Motor strains against the back pressure created up to the air filter.
Persistence leads to motor burning out. lol
