Next Wednesday am having my first cataract/lens done.

I so can't wait as I have hardly any vision in the left eye now and then in 4 weeks the other eye is being done

Just can't imagine me not having to wear glasses anymore (well except for reading apparently) after all these years and being able to see properly again lol

Am apprehensive but can't wait also as I have not heard a bad word against it, everything has been positive.

I'm more worried that I will be able to see all dirt in my house now and will have to do a 'summer clean' instead of the Spring that I thought I'd already done lol

Dear Kim

Aw, fancy worrying about the dusting!

Hope everything goes well for you.

Try not to worry.

Try to get plenty of sleep.

Take good care of yourself.

Very best wishes
xx

An aunt of mine had this op when she was 90 and was so happy to be able to read and do her crosswords again.

My SIL had it done in recent years and said she was apprehensive, then thrilled when she felt nothing! She said "nothing to it!" and went back to get the other one done soon after. Hardly ever wears her specs now.

Who cares about the dust - be thankful when you are able to SEE it!

You will be really glad you have had them done. i have had both eyes done and although i still need to wear varifocals because of age degeneration to the vision .at least its not like looking at through clingfilm!!
I had to have some Laser treatment since then as sometimes you get a thickening up of the gel ,but that is a piece of cake too.

Had the eye done yesterday and I can't believe how bright everything is now! lol

They have had to make me slightly short sighted for some reason but with contact lens in the other eye I can now see the cars across the road lol

I am on cloud nine today
