just unpacked boxes after move ...my first ever doll 'Blondie' :) I must have been 3 I think, given for my birthday or Christmas ( near to each other), I can still remember walking into the room because it is also the first time I remember a real Christmas tree with lights on :))

She is still intact , though the plastic has gone from flesh pink to 'tanned' lol

I still have my mum's little teddy bear, it sits on my bedside cabinet. Poor thing is looking very shabby and threadbare now, but two generations have loved it and played with it.

I have a Teddy bear made & given to me on my First Christmas. The satin on the bottom of his feet & on his paws, wore through & I replaced them with red velvet from a skirt I made in the late 1960's

I still have my teddy given to me by my grandparents for my first christmas. He is thread bare now poor thing but still sits on my bed with a babygro on incase his sawdust falls out.
My dolls house made by my dad for my 5th birthday...it was remodeled by my brother for my daughter and has recently been remodeled by same brother for my grandaughter.
I have the big scary looking china doll which belonged to my mam and was given to me when I was 6. It scares the hell out of all kiddies.

Lol Rosie I find it keeps them together as they age...We put my mams teddy in her coffin with her when she died as he had always sat on her bed all her life and we thought it fitting for him to go with her.
Morbid i know but...

Sadly, I cannot remember having toys as a child. Please do not all cry at once. It was just after the war, and my parents had their work cut out just feeding us. About 5 years ago, on a visit to Buxton, I bought my grandaughter a set of Russian dolls. If ever I see any again, I am going to buy myself a set.

I havent kept any of my toys, and I did have plenty but I have kept my son's Percy the Penguin which I think from memory you sent off for from whoever makes Penguin Biscuits - probably with some wrappers or something, I just forget.

Anyway, my son arrived on the same day as Percy was delivered - excellent timing!

Son is now 40 and I asked him the other day if he wanted the Penguin (which has had it's beak stiched back in place umpteen times). He looked at me as if I were mad, and then said "no...........you keep it Mum.............I havent got anywhere to put it". He didnt want it thrown away, and so it's back in the cupboard for another 40 years I hope. The big softie!

The only toy I have is my music spinning top which actually played a Strauss waltz (lol obviously the sort of music to excite a toddler) Still plays fine but I wonder how much lead is in the brightly painted pictures on it

My Mum, God bless her, was not a hoarder, so most of my childhood toys and books "disappeared" over the years. I can remember some like a red Triang tricycle, a doll's pram modelled on a real baby's pram (can't recall the make but it was like a real baby''s pram - including the folding hood! - royal blue sprung carriage). OMG what would they be worth now!?
