I bought a Lumix FZ28 earlier in the year and very pleased with it, you can add lenses to it if you want.
The G1 is almost an SLR, but not really, but wish I could have afforded one.

My wife has Lumix DMC-FZ18, which I bought her a couple of years ago to replace her Coolpix, which had a damaged case, and wasn't worth repair.

The Lumix has a really good solid professional feel, very like an SLR.

28mm lens with 18x zoom and superb picture quality.

My two sons have Lumix compacts, much cheaper, of course but stil produce good results.

Lumix and the likes of finepix are the way to go ,at least half of the weight of an slr and lots easier to carry and use with no films to worry about ,which is a bonus in itself. Fred.

It is easy to send them by e mail Jean, can you not do that?

Either, as yous end an e mail go into insert at the top, then click on files, this should bring up 'my pictures', find the photo youw ant to send and click on 'open'. this willa dd the photo to your e mail.

Or, Go to the start menu and click on pictures, open the photo you want to send and click on 'send e mail'.

My grandson uses my 35mm and I bought a lot of kodak film off e-bay, but not many places process them now ,I have all my slides on a c.d. and in a Picaso gallery wish I could send them to various friends, but dont know how to do it... I get a lot off friends on here , I intend to add them to a G.R. memory album, so always glad to recieve any more...

Yes, I too have a passion for photography, have lost count of the number of cameras I have. although with them doing away with Kodak film, half of them will soon be useless. I have been taking photos for over 50 years.

I love my Lumix which is a TZ3 it has X10 magnification but I think the new ones have X12, it is as good as my SLR digital for taking photos. There is also a new Lumix which is a three quarter size SLR, not tried it but ot looks good. however if you want a smaller one the one i have and its successor has had consistently good write ups.
