Can someone please remind me where i can get GRO ref number for ordering a birth cert please (website)

Free BMD and Ancestry has them , but if you just want to know a reference ask on the Trying to find board for a look up

For better results please give all the details ,name, date place as you can {pictures by me }

Good point about the "proof of Evidence" - had forgotten bout that.
Also had not realised that it would cost more without ref number.

As a moan now - why did they have to shut the FRO?
Used to enjoy going there - as was not too hard to get to for me.

Hi Elizabeth, If you're still living in the same area you were born in. Try your local registry office. It'll probably be quicker & cheaper.
