Kathleen - I have a potassium deficiency, and every time I go in hospital, 22 times since Easter 2008, I have fluids laced with potassium. It doesn't matter how many bananas I eat, I can't get it up to an acceptable level.

I have 2.5mg Lisinopril twice a day. Have had to stop eating bananas as it raised my potassium levels - I did eat bananas every day.

Re the Furosimide, I can only say that after having ankles like tree trunks for about three years, I now normally sport a very fine pair of trim ankles, except in this heat when they are abit swollen, and have aching knees

hi all, I am on enalapril, simvastatin and tamsulosin.....

you may recall that I put up a thread re GOUT!!

I was recently prescribed Furosimide by a heart doctor at a hospital, I had taken samples of my meds but maybe she missed the fact that I had had three attacks of Gout this year!
having taken one of the sachets of furosimide ( 28 pills,) during which time I had the fourth, most excruciating bout of Gout so far!.

they say Read the pamphlet........on taking out the second sachet, I decided to read the pamphlet.....about halfway down in the side effects, there is a sentence which goes...
""as with other sulponomide based diuretics( drugs that increase the passing of water)an increase of blood URIC acid may occur and as a result in rare? cases gout may result""

they werent kidding!!

I'm on the Bedro, Simvastatin, and Ferusomide (sp)
Just before I went on the Simvastatin, possible just over a year ago, there was a thread on here asking if anyone was having problems. Glad I read it, as I did not hesitate to have it prescribed

no side effects that I know of BM, been on the BP tablets for about 9 years (BP is staying down now), the Statin about a year and the aspirin about a year.

edited to say my ankles swell in the evenings, not sure if that is a side effect but nobody seems bothered by it.

LWH you are on a very low dose aren't you?
