Lindy! you have reminded me that we have a ceramic sign we bought in Italy last year that says "Beware of the Cat" - lol lol I must look it out and place it strategically on the gate.

Trouble is of course, Jackson can't read either! )))))

I also thought that "Beware of the Dog" signs were admitting liability for a savage dog.

We had a sign once "Beware of the Cat" if he did not like you he would bit you on the rear end.

Maybe a sign "Please leave the gate open", then everyone will want to close it.:}}

We have a ceramic tile embedded into the wall next to the front gate. A friend of ours hand painted a bulldog's face on it, which she copied from a photo we gave her.

She got the likeness right, a beautiful brindle goofy looking face of our previous bully which makes everyone laugh, so much for scaring people off.

She also painted a portrait in ceramic using four tiles and offered it to OH for his birthday one year. It shows a very mean looking brindle bulldog that has eyes that follows you, nothing at all like our Feiheina.

We have a Beware of the Chickens sign on their orchard! course it could be in Swahili or something, cos the chooks can't read! )))))

Mine is Beware of the kids, dog is fine.

The only thing my dog would do is give them a bath,perhaps I should have
"BE AWARE OF THE DOG" instead?
If I put please close the gate up the local kids will see it as a challenge (pesky kids!) lol

Did think about putting a big picture of a Rotweiler in the hall to put people off.......a bit like having a policeman's helmet on display.......

every year i throw my xmas tree into the front garden after xmas
and put a sign on it saying do not remove
and every year it dispears just like magic

I was once told that by putting a sign up saying Beware of the Dog that you are admitting you have a vicious dog - probably not true:) How about putting up a sign saying CLOSE THE GATE. You never know it might work:))

I put a sign on my gate so people know I have a dog which I thought was sensible................ever since no one seems capable of shutting the gate.Think I'll remove it.
