I get all death certs for direct lines (when I can find them!) am missing about 4 I think and have bought quite a few wrong ones :-( in an effort to trace them. the address and informant can be very useful as well as the cause of death being interesting. I have also bought some of the children's ones just to see what they died of - some are very sad including my dad's younger brother who died of a sort of malnutrition thing at 2 days old - obviously a digestive problem that couldn't be diagnosed or treated in those days :-((

Hi Elisabeth, I know there are a couple of cases of TB in mine also, my 'auntie' reminds me every time I phone when I have a cough lol... she tells me " TB runs in the family dear ...." ( she also says 'heart problems, cancer and alchohol dependency run in the family too" LOL...but forgets to say that most of the family did manage a good age even 'back then' :)

Yes Rose, I do quite often.

I haven't found any Spanish Flu causes though in this era, just lots of TB.

wonder...they were referring to the 1918 Spanish Flu outbreak and how many died. I know my gt gt grandfather died 1918, have the date on an 'In Memoriam' card. Does anyone ( already knowing the date of death of a relative and not needing any other details from a cert) still get a death certificate just to see what the cause of death was?
