Just looked on Ancestry both mine and my sisters marriage is there but both say Wilton Wiltshire should say Welton Lincolnshire wonder how many more have been transcribed wrongly

I have just added to a thread on Tips the fact that Ancestry have added a note to the marriage index saying the marriage index is having problems but they hope to resolve it within 24 Hours

Thanks! i will look at it this week end. I've only just joined Ancestry so I'm wearing L plates when I use it.It's good though.

awww lol, well I only found out by accident when I went to do a look up for someone and couldn't see the usual 'quarters' layout...I think Ancestry sneaked it on so we wouldn't all rush on at once and crash the system :)

Ironically. The previous day, I spent a couple of hrs ploughing in vain through the index for a marriage............If only I waited 24hrs. lol

Hi All. ....For those of us who use Ancestry.

They have now fully transcribed the marriage index from 1916 to 2005......... This went live yesterday.
