Morning Kathleen and Carole,

I was amazed at the length of time. I am now frustrated as my 'trees' button won't work, though it did first thing this morning. I am sure the link is not there as my original message was when my tree on here was in its infancy.

Off out for a walk to watch a steam train heading up the East Coast Main Line. For anyone interested it is Bittern, A4 Class, number 60019. How sad is that - I still have my trainspotters book - Summer Edition 1953.

Have a happy day.

I had asked someone if they would open their tree for me, and got no reply. Like you, years later they sent the standard I have opened my tree.
It hadn't been worth waiting for! Only had half a dozen names in it and no information.

Good morning Elisabeth.

Recently I have had replies to messages I posted on Rootsweb message boards. Two were 5 years ago and 1 four years. So, as you say, never give up hope.

I had a message when I logged on, to say someone had opened their tree. There was no message, just the standard 'I have opened my tree'.

I spent a little while looking around the tree and couldn't immediately find a link, but thought I would look to see if I had previous contact. I had.

I had sent this chap a message on 2 July 2003, yes 2003, and he has replied on 4 July 2009.

I suppose the message is - never give up on waiting for a reply!

I still can't find the link, as I am having trouble with opening trees this morning, and the jumping around when adding to these boards is happening again.
