Jean (Monmouth) Report 4 Jul 2009 19:40

We have a pond in our garden and a wire netting frame over ot at a height of 18 inches has kept the Herons off since we lost the first one. Doesnt take away from the look of the pond too much. My neighbour gave us back one of our frogs this morning which had strayed in to her garden!

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 4 Jul 2009 19:34

Two herons have taken up residence in the ponds just off the village.

There are no fish in the ponds to speak of so they have been improvising.

My neighbour has recently had a pond put in his garden anf filled it with young koi. Spent quite a lot of money.

Well he hasn't got any fish now. They have had the lot.

He's now filled it in and made it into a sandpit for his children.
