My friend started working as a cleaner in a home back in december.Nothing was said to her at first but after 3 months her line manager said she had to do a cleaning rota. She thought it odd that she was not given one when she started but just got on and did her work in the amount of hours given. She did do a cleaning rota with the days of the week and what she done. That was not good enough and the line manager wants another cleaning rota where you can tick off each day what you have cleaned.Said it was all do do with health and saftey. My friend is not computer litrate and does not have any idea how she can do this.Line manager has been no help. This week my friend was reported to the manager as she still does not have a cleaning rota. She has to have one by monday.Surly this is down to the company to issue a cleaning rota and not my friend who is under so much stress now.Does anyone know who should make this rota up? Hi Grannie of 10, anywhere that i worked it was always Head of Department or Office staff.
Does she have anyone working on her opposite time or on her days off that she can ask if they know who did up until now?.
Can she make it out herself and ask someone in the office if they can print it out for her.
Is she not suspose to be given a "Contract of Work" when she is taken on in work. I thought that everyone was susposed to be given a cotract of their hours, jobs that have to be done, when done, holidays and pay.?
Here in Ireland you have to be given that and boss can be fined if he does not.

My wife was a cleaning supervisor at a hospital for many years. She says this rota is the responsibility of the hospital cleaning management to see to ,not cleaning staff,so it sounds like the person saying she has to do her own rota is being a lazy git.
Get in touch with the hospital union and they will get something sorted. Fred.
