But sara Brown wife of our illustrious p m was spotted at a recent gay pride march with her whistle and pink unon jack .

and what she does reflects on him

though i do support gay pride to
and have my opinions of our soldiers deaths

Rambling Report 9 Jul 2009 11:53

well any public figure can go on a gay pride march ( as could we all) so she is probably acting as an individual not as a 'politician's wife as representative ' .

I do think it would be a gesture of respect if a politician of some standing were present when soldiers came home . But ,it would be just a gesture , and I don't think that the absence of such makes a blind bit of difference in the end.
Those who are proud of the courage and commitment of our troops will be so, and they will honour them whether publicly or privately.

FLUMP Report 9 Jul 2009 17:23

Not looking for a political row,but our soldiers are fighting to give others the freedoms that we take so much for granted. We have the freedom to go on parades gay or other wise ,politician's wife or not.We are all reminded of what a sad world that even after 2 World Wars, Countless other wars breaking out all over, even on our own doorstep,The Human Race cant live and let live one has to dominate the other. That is why Young Brave Men and Women serve their Country defending our freedoms, and Helping those who are oppressed.
May there always be such.Thank you one and all,and your Families for the risks you take on my behalf.God Bless you.

Our Em Report 9 Jul 2009 17:54

At first reading Igor, i was going to jump in and wholeheartedly agree with you. But then i sat back and thought about it.
Firstly, If Sarah Brown wanted to march at the Gay pride then good on her.. yes i agree she does represent the Pm whether offically or privately.. she is an attachment to him and will no doubt have to confer with government bods reagrds any public outings. but then.. thats another story really.

There but for the grace of god go i..Myhubby fought in two wars and If god forbid he had not made it back alive, would i have wanted a representive of the government that sent him out there ?
the answer would be no.

why?
because my husband joined the army to serve Queen and country, and a more fitting representitive would not be one person.. but people of the general public.. his countrymen who he died for.
What the government should do is spend a tiny amount of their vast salaries and pay for a decent homecoming that would show public respect for these brave men.
Well thats my feelings on the matter anyway

hi em
Agree totally in some respects and a lot of cynical people will use the age old phrase "thats what they signed up for".
I fought in in ni and the Falklands , peace kept in Bosnia if that's what you like to call it .
My Youngest son is in Afghanistan with the Mercian Regiment (read Monday and Tuesdays Daily Mail ) he would not tell his mother wher he was , she had no clue till she read the two reports .
A strong woman who keeps her emotions locked inside her , all she would say was "deja Vu " you now him"
