As a mother who has a son who has served in Afghanistan I want to thank your son for his gesture....it is exactly this sort of response that is so uplifting. |

Bossyboots, wish I knew your proper name, but yes, I can understand where you are coming from, my Son Robert who put that thread on facebook, was in Iraq and was along side the Dessert Rats, while they were shooting people, to defend themselves, he was the paramedic that put them to rights, I saw him on a news clip on Sky, giving a litttle lad a drink from his flask, I was so proud of him, as you must be, and thankfully he is home safe and sound and now out of the army, but on the streets with the ambulance service, God bless our service Men and our Sons and daughters. XX.. |

Gillian and Bossyboots, you have lovely sons, and I am glad you have them home with you now. I can't imagine how those families feel when they get the visit that tells them the worst, I am selfish and feel glad my son decided against joining the forces. He had at one time thought he would sign up with the Army when he was not long left school. I don't think I could have coped, had he gone to somewhere like Afghanistan etc. |
