hi Rose
You know as well as i do that if you have an opinion on here that don't quite suit some peoples narrow minded approach then it,s straight on to teacher to have your gold star (anybody remember them) taken off you .

Exactly Roxanne, and there are a great many non religious people who are almost saintly in their devotion to others and in the way they behave towards others.

Roxanne Report 12 Jul 2009 18:42

Religion is only as good as the believer:-))
Churches are full of bigots on a sunday,Not all I might add ,I know some truely good christians and I know some that are only Sunday Christians.

Why is there always the misconception that because someone is religious, it makes them a good person ??

It doesn't - they might happen to be a good person who is religious, but they can just as easily be a nasty evil vindictive person, who is religious.........

the religion or belief does not maketh the man

there are many many good people on this earth who don't go near religion and don't need to be the person they are

too many people use their religion as a shield to hide behind

Ahhhhh... like my mother in law...... I could tell you things... and her son an only child....... Pentecostal, but would only go to church if she was collected and brought back... and only enjoyed it if the singing was good... always criticising the minister (some were superb!) and always looking around to criticise what others were wearing or looked like?

Well, she is a sad and very lonely old lady now... her only visitor has been me for a number of years... I won't see her now, but I take her toiletries and things I know she enjoys every few weeks... or at least I did until last year.......... and resumed a week or so ago when I was able to drive myself.

Not a nice lady.

Love

Daff xxxx

Oh..... and I bet their son was led astray by you, Rose!! He will, of course, be pure as the driven snow, and was unable to quell his earthly desires........ you temptress you!! Well, D sounds wonderful... he is more you than them, and ther great loss! The world is soooo full of bigots, isn't it? xxxxxx I'm going to be a pagan, I am..... ;¬)) xx

I think it was inviting opinion Rose, and you know we're not allowed those LOL

Hi Daff, it was about religious hypocrisy, basically, people who preach one thing but do another. Go to church but have no Christian charity.

I referred to my son's grandparents who like his dad have had no contact... lay preacher so might have been expected to show a little concern for the 'innocent' if not his wayward mum lol.

Stray, probably a bit bleak for under 12s, I don't think Dan wants to go lol, we made a deal he could go and see Transformers by himself and I would go and see HP .. ( but I bet he'll come, just for the popcorn and the panini in the cinema cafe lol )
