Well I enjoyed it tonight, and my OH actually sat and watched it with me and found it interesting too. She had two very interesting ancestors and i was sooo envious of that grave when my ancestors couldn't even afford a stone!!

Will probably give this one a miss as not a fan of Davina

Unfortunately clashes with Dragons Den

Typical clash of programmes as the only two things worth watching are on at the same time

Have to say that I agree that the last series of HDYTYA was not as good as previous series. Too much time and attention spent on one person and not enough genealogy. I will still tune in though.

Dear All

Hello,

The programme about nature presenter's Kate Humble looks very interesting but intensely moving.

IN 1862, her grandfather x 3, Joseph Humble helped
in rescue attempts after the mining disaster at Hester Pit, Northumberland.

At the time, it was Britain's worst mining accident.
Over 200 men and boys were killed.

After the accident, Joseph Humble left the area.

The article is in the Sunday Express newspaper.

The episode is on Wednesday 29 July at 9-00pm.

Best wishes
x

I agree - but hey - wish they would make the program inclusive of us ordinary folk helping in our research a public appeal maybe

If it is anything like the last series then forget it. The producers lost the plot.
Ex cocaine Davina doesn't bode too well either for a decent program.

What we want to see is how they managed to get back to research our ancestors, and tips and clues as to go about it, rather than a pathetic version of this is your life.
