origanal birth certificite

Could anyone tell me what information is on a origanal birth certificite. i have sent away for mine, as i have a draft copy, and only have my birth details, and no parent information. I have found out im adopted and require more infomation on my birth father |

I think it depends on whether your parents were married at the time and, if they weren't, whether your father was present at the registration or gave his consent to having his details added in his absence. (I've got a copy of some kind of form filled out to register my birth amongst the paperwork my adoptive parents collected about me which gives my mother's name, address and job but nothing about my father so I am guessing that he just wasn't there at the time - they weren't married anyway.) |

I think the social services contact details might vary depending on which area you were born in. You could try searching for, say, "Manchester (or wherever) social services" online and see if there's a contact number etc. |
