I am just trying to avoid doing my tree really.

A while back something ( I have no idea what) happened to my tree when I updated my Legacy programme. All the census images and photos no longer open because their file names have mysteriously changed. I have had IT help from Eves dad to try and sort it out,but I can't.
that has prompted me to take the bull by the horns and start all over again. In the beginning when I didn't know what I was doing I made the silly mistake of putting both mine and OH's side all on one tree. The result is a massive tree which is far too big. I did split my side off a while back to give to my brother, so I know it can be done.

I am going to make four trees, one for my father, one for my mother and the same for OH. I will have to sort the images out again. I am also going to be more selective about who I include as I have far too many side branches on there. The big tree can stay in case I get contacts, but I am going back to basics,especially as there are far more recent records appearing on th winter net than when I first started.

It Will be a huge amount of work, but it will keep me occupied over the winter.

I expect that stone cottage was so cold and windswept today - poor souls.

I have a nice fire to cheer the place up.

Good idea with the recipes - how organised you are.

I can't think why anyone would want to visit you at this time of year, in the summer yes, but not now

I have been busy typing recipes. I have a little red book where I write down recipes I come across and want to use again. It has become a bit of a mess, so I have been through and typed up only the ones which I use often. I will use my iPad to see them when I want to use them

Yes it looks like I can make arrangements for the bed to be moved next week. :-D

Poor American tourists indeed.
They have rented a cottage on the side of a cliff just outside the village.
They were in New York yesterday, staying in London overnight.

They have no car, and no public transport from where they are.

I think a Cliffside cottage will be a bit different to New York :-D, and it's such an awful day weatherwise.

I wonder why? what brought them here?

Poor American tourists, they won't be very happy with this weather.

It will be good if he puts the furniture back because you will be able to arrange to get your bed moved sooner

Yes the painter is here now - he arrived at 11am, worked till 1pm, left to collect two America tourists from the station who had flown in from New York. Took them to their holiday accommodation.
Returned at 2-30pm and is still working.
Says he will be basically finished today, but may have to pop back in the morning to finish
Is going to replace the furniture back into position.

My brother and SIL have been here today, and left about an hour ago.

He is exceptionally tall. There are high ceilings here, but he doesn't use steps or anything, he can paint the ceiling just reaching up with unbelievably long arms
