We do need the rain - but not too much :-D It would be nice if we could regulate it but it seems that that's one thing we have no control over.

Yesterday my neighbour - who is a widow - came over to my house very distressed. She had received a letter addressed to her late husband regarding home care. We also received one but took little notice. I am assuming that they have access to an old electoral role as my neighbour's husband has been gone for 6 years. I rang the organisation but didn't even receive an apology on her behalf.

Good Morning Sue :-)

I hope that Linda can get back to us.

It is very wet here, we've also had hailstones, and very strong winds. It is noticeably colder, and I have the heating on. Stayed indoors all day.

I hope you get just enough rain to help the garden, but not too much.

Hello you two :-D

What a nuisance your internet is, Linda :-(

Cloudy and cool here today. It is threatening rain which wouldn't hurt the gardens.

Oh dear poor dog, it was a good thing she knew her way home again

The annual bonfire display was held on Saturday night here, just a day after halloween. They have moved it to the racecourse this year and doubled the length of this display as they could charge everyone to go in. For the last few years it was held on a carpark in the town, so they had to rely o n people putting donations in buckets and of course lots did not pay

As we are only a couple of hundred yards from the back of the racecourse, we had a terrific view f the display just from our front garden :-D

sorry ................... coffee and other things called!

and now I've missed you all :-(

After that lovely day yesterday ......... it has rained all day today :-(

On our way out of the house to go for coffee, we met a couple of neighbours walking their dog.

THEY do not usually walk the dog .................. it's usually one or t'other

but the poor thing was so scared by the firecrackers on Friday night that she wouldn't leave the house yesterday .............. they had to literally drag her out to do her "business".

Today, she would go out, but only if both of them went with her.

The husband usually walks her down to the river every day, she goes for a swim, and then they walk home .................. it's a 2-3 km walk each way.

A few weeks ago, some guns were fired at a gun club over on the other side of the river ................ the first shot had the dog's head up and looking around. The second had her haring away, Bill couldn't grab her in time, and she disappeared.

He walked home. half scared of what his wife would say to "I've lost the dog, dear".

The dog had raced straight home, and wife was making a fuss of her.

They inherited this dog about 2 years ago from someone who was moving. She's a big, curly haired thing .......... I think a breed, but not sure what! But she certainly had the homing instinct!

Another friend said yesterday that her cat hid in the closet all Friday evening.

It is now a dark wet November evening

take care everyone

You will have to buy some fake tan and do your other leg to match

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Nov 2014 22:50

Archie has a fabulous tan - love to know where he spent his holidays :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Nov 2014 22:47

If you wore shorts, you would have to colour Archie as your other leg tanned, or you would look silly

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Nov 2014 22:40

No I couldn't do that :-D

to be honest I don't know how I could cope with temperatures of 30C+ now.

though they do have air-con, so I might survive

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Nov 2014 22:37

A jolly good idea Tec, Sue has lots of pots to water though and Berona, but I am sure they wouldn't mind if we let them die, they would enjoy replanting them when they got back :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Nov 2014 22:33

You may have a point there Linda :-D

I think we should all swop places for the next six months - see how the Aussies survive a British winter.

Though I know Berona did :-)
