Hello Linda,

Hope that you survive your action packed day tomorrow.

It must be very difficult picking Esme up off the floor too.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 27 Oct 2014 21:20

Hello everyone.

I have survived a day looking after both of them. It will be easier for the rest of the. Biweekly as we mainly only have Eve. The problem with Esme is that I usually sit on the floor and play with her, but I only tried that once today and had a real problem getting back up again :-(

We are taking Eve to the theatre tomorrow morning to some puppet production about scary dinosaurs. We will have lunch in town and go straight to the swimming pool from there. A fun packed day beckons, for Eve at least.

I think wool is so expensive Amanda, that it is cheaper to go to Primark, but it is nicer to have something home made

Hello Amanda, :-)

Keep practicing with the knitting :-D
Think along the lines of bigger dolls :-D

How awful that thieves have been busy on the allotments. :-| There must be some unprincipalled desperate people about.
I hope that you didn't lose anything.

I'm sure that you would make an excellent Secretary to the allotment committee.
Does collecting the rent involve on site, or do you have to knock on doors?
Assuming you want to do it that is.

Any news of the resident nutter. I think his time is up on Tuesday.
I hope he goes quietly into his padded cell. :-D

Good evening .

Linda , I hope you have a fun time with the children :-)

Sylvia , it sounds as if your weather isn't to clever at the moment , I hope it soon calms down for you .

Hello Tec , I hope your wind soon calms down :-)

Time is running away with me these days and now the clocks have gone back I shall be in a time warp for at least a week :-S
My daughters are swelling up like autumn pumpkins ! I have taken to knitting in my spare time and have finally completed my first ever ( reasonably shaped ) baby cardigan . Mind you , I chose a pemature baby pattern and am thinking it can always go on a dolly if it won't fit any of the newborns .

It was all go at the allotments today . There had been a break in and 11 sheds had been forced open . I believe a lawn mower , strimmer and petrol where stolen from one shed , the sheds in question are all down near the gate end . It makes me so angry when thieves target allotments :-|
Another piece of allotment news is that I seem to be in the running as the new site secretary :-0 the old boy who is the current secretary is not putting himself forwards this year for re-election , no one else has come forward and the chairman has been trying to talk me into it for several weeks . I have been told that it mainly involves collecting the rents :-S

Hello, :-)

Sylvia I hope your storm isn't too bad. We keep getting the residue of Atlantic hurricanes arriving here, but it is unusually warm for late October.
Today was dry but quite windy.

Linda, Glad to see that you arrived safely, even if you were delayed.
I once walked my dog along the fast lane of the M1 after heavy snow brought everything to a grinding halt. :-D
Have fun with the children, but mind how you go on that knee - no running :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Oct 2014 21:36

For once I don't think it is going to be too bad here Sylvia.

It took us ages to get here because of an accident on th e bottom of the M1. everyone was out of their cars stretching their legs on the motorway because we were stopped for so long.

Eve was very pleased to see us, it has nt taken me long to get back into the bath time/ bedtime routine.

Esme is coming on very well with her sitting up, she just accepted me back

Hi all

Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 am November 2nd in Canada

We had high winds and heavy rain last night, bright sun right now (about 2 pm)

Just the most recent in the sequence of storms we've been having

We have a Tropical or Sub-Tropical Storm arriving on Monday night / Tuesday ................. Hurricane Ana formed about 18 days ago in the Pacific, swept by Hawaii, and continued across the Pacific.

That's a long time for a hurricane / tropical storm to last.

We are told to expect very high winds and very heavy rain. :-(

Just a quick hello before putting the computer to bed. Quite hot to-day. 31c, and still only halfway through Spring.

Hope all is well with all of you and that none of you are overdoing it. Take care.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Oct 2014 07:59

Have a lovely time with August Persie.
OH is just making bacon sarnies, then we will gather up our bits and bobs and set off for our five hour drive

Persephone

Persephone Report 26 Oct 2014 07:14

Daylight saving kicked in late September this year. (did I get that right Huia?)

And of course the further south you go in this country the later the daylight.

and yes Linda your big smoke is bigger than ours. I think a lot of them vacated Auckland to go to their holiday homes at the beach as it is a long weekend.

Am off to Ohakune tomorrow and then I will be off the internet till probably late Saturday my time. August will be up from Wellywood, we will sleep in the bedroom that he doesn't want to sleep in.. we have left him to choose, they will be there now.

It is raining hard here ................. the most recent of the line of Pacific storms that are rolling through.

Our clocks don't go back until early November .............so we'll be out of synch for a couple of weeks
