I have remembered about changing the clocks Linda - takes me a while to get used to the dark evenings.
I will be driving home from Shrewsbury in the dark, haven't driven in the dark since last year, so that will be a novelty.

Enjoy your trip to the city Persie,

Better start saving now for Aimee's shopping trip Sue :-D

I'm off to bed now,

Sleep well Linda, have a safe journey tomorrow,

Enjoy your day Sue, and Persie,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

Less time to chat :-(

Oh good - glad to see it in reverse, Persie. It's usually OH that gets a little impatient with me when we're going out :-D

Aimee wants me to buy her a pretty dress - pink of course :-)
I'm very much looking forward to a day out with my girl but I think I'll be broke by the time I take her home if I fall for her wiles.

Don't forget to turn all your clocks back tomorrow Tec. You get an extra hour in bed

We are off to the big smoke in the morning as well Persie, but I bet mine is bigger than yours :-D

Persephone Report 25 Oct 2014 23:21

:-) off to the big smoke today, we were supposed to go earlier but someone went back to sleep and it wasn't me. I left him, thought he was listening to his radio program and I am not "allowed" to talk during it. He slept right through it. :-S

The bonsai gardens sound interesting Persie - I like things in miniature.

Sue I expect that you could improvise tools out of OHs toolbox without having to spend lots of money on specialised tools.

I have a dish here that was obviously once a bonsai dish, but no idea how it came to be here.

Miniature railways....yes that sounds like you Persie :-)

I can just imagine you with a miniature railway running through your garden Persie

There was a woman who lived across the road from us when I was young, and she had a shop at the top of the street. I have no idea what she sold, never saw anyone in there but I used to be fascinated by a couple of bonsai gardens she had growing in tubs in the shop window. She had little bridges and pagodas and Japanese miniature people in amongst them. There were two tubs of them. I know she didn't sell bonsais.

I graduated to miniature railways later.

That's what one of the demonstrators said - keeping them indoors is invariably fatal to the plant. I had a look at the specialised tools and they were incredibly expensive.

Bonsai are fascinating Sue - definite skill in keeping them going for many years.
I think the wiring to get the shape of the branches is clever.
Often felt like trying to bonsai something out of the garden, like a small leaf'd shrub.

Many people make the mistake of keeping them indoors.

Hello Persie, I am still going up and down the stairs one step at a time, it takes ages

Hello Lady Persephone :-)

I do hope you are going to be careful with your knee, Linda. I worry about you :-|

Tec let loose in a garden centre.....eek!!!

The bonsai show was wonderful. I didn't buy anything I just marvelled at the patience and care put into the trees. The oldest one was 85 years old. It was on display but last night it was to be taken home as there was a break in at a show in Sydney. I sat in on a couple of workshops and decided that as much as I love them I don't think I can deal with one. I do have one which I've managed to keep alive - it was a gift. I learned some tips about looking after it.

Good Morning Lady Persie of Tywyn, :-D

You must be very careful - I remember you falling off the doormat :-(

Persephone

Persephone Report 25 Oct 2014 22:53

I could bring my broken ankle x-rays and I could play on the floor, have no trouble getting down there, it is the getting back up that is most unladylike.

No problem going upstairs but I tend to come down them one at a time. Am very careful when I carry the washing down the back steps, I could easily do a wobbly over.

You will just have to do it all over again :-D

Maybe Esme will be happy to play on the sofa now, so long as she doesn't roll off.

Good Morning Sue,

It is so annoying when that happens.
