The first house we ever bought had that sort of vented air heating, but I never liked it, I was glad to go back to radiators when we moved

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 23 Oct 2014 21:20

we don't have radiators ............

it's blown air heating in the main part of the house, through vents at floor level

and electric baseboard heaters in the other 3 rooms.

My daughter has radiators ................. not sure how they deal with theirs.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Oct 2014 21:17

All our radiators have thermostats on as well as the main one in the hall

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Oct 2014 21:07

I can control the heating around the house as there are thermostatic vales on each radiator.
There is no heating on upstairs at the moment, because it's not terribly cold yet, and anyway the heat rises up the staircases.

Oh I forgot, the bathroom is heated.

I shall heat my bedroom when I start using it.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Oct 2014 21:04

Mine is on a timer, for a while in the morning, plus the evenings, but it has been so warm once the curtains are closed that the system has turned itself off

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 23 Oct 2014 21:02

we've kept our two heating systems on manual ................... thermostat for the furnace in the dining room at the front of the house, and individual thermostats in the 3 rooms that have electric baseboard heating.

We wanted to keep control, especially as we don't want everything turning on at the same time very day!

and it's really no problem ........................... especially as OH usually has to go walkies at about 5 am, and so can turn on the heating on cold mornings, meaning it is nice and warm by the time I get up :-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Oct 2014 20:51

I haven't got my heating on automatic, prefer to keep it on manual switching it on as and when I need it.

The clock is so complicated :-(

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Oct 2014 20:48

It must be cold outside because my radiators are actually on tonight

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Oct 2014 20:43

The fish don't talk to me, but they do all go up to the surface every time they see me thinking I've brought more food.

I've put my heating on as well Sylvia, although it's actually not that cold outside, but it got chilly in here this evening

SylviaInCanada Report 23 Oct 2014 20:39

Hi Tec

playing with a fish tank is also good :-)

It's also been dark and wet here ..... and it's feeling really chilly.

I have the heat on, but it's still on the cool side!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Oct 2014 20:39

Do the fish answer you when you talk to them?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Oct 2014 20:35

Hello, :-)

What a dreary day it's been, dark and wet - yuk.

I played with my fish tank.

I did go out to the market square, but I took the car. I bought some black paper for making bats amongst other things

Hi Sue, and everyone

They are trying to get back to normal in Ottawa.

The House of Commons met as usual, at the usual time, in the usual place .................. all 3 leaders gave short speeches, condemning the action, praising first responders and security, and saying Canada will not be beaten down.

If the guy had been about 15 minutes earlier or 1 hour later, the hallways would have been full with MPs and reporters ........ so they are all feeling very lucky.

It was a rotten night last night ................. it poured down all night, and this morning was apparently horrendous on the roads. People had not managed to clear up after the windstorm on Tuesday night, so street drains were blocked with debris etc. There was a lot of flooding around, on city streets and the highways.

take care everyone

Off to bed now...

never done face time

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Oct 2014 11:34

Eve used to go swimming just about every week, but with Esme being tube fed, it is difficult. Actually Esme can go swimming now, but as she still wakes up just about every hour during the night because she has lost her dummy, I think they are just too tired to do lots of things.

Sue's Aussie Internet cuts off Face time which is annoying

Persephone

Persephone Report 23 Oct 2014 11:26

August is a regular at swimming they have a lovely indoor pool not that far from them.

What has happened to Sue's internet, does she not use the same one the rest of us d0? :-S
