night night Tec xx

sleep well xx

Sue ....... enjoy the rest of your day.

we had the last mowing of the grass last week .................. I had a long chat with the lawnmower guy when he came to be paid :-)

He'll check back in April to see if we want him to carry on

the weather is definitely changing here .................. but I think the Apple Fest will finish without any moisture falling :-)

Enjoy your day Sue - take care, and Sylvia too,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

SueMaid Report 19 Oct 2014 23:21

It was very warm yesterday and the sun shone all day. October is always changeable but it seems to have gone crazy this year. OH mowed the lawn yesterday so he's glad he got that job done :-)

I must be off as I have just received a phone call that demands another one or two.

Goodnight Tec - sleep well <3

Enjoy the rest of your day Sylvia <3

I will keep a close eye on things, especially now that I can drive and get there regularly.
If I feel that she needs to see a doctor I will say so. The surgery is right opposite the home.

The weather here is very strange. It is unusually warm, but very windy, and lots of heavy rain between sunny spells.

Monday night we have a storm coming in, the residue of an Atlantic hurricane.

I will carry one working in my bedroom ready for the decorator

My father would never have been aware enough to use a panic button :-0

I guess it's up to you to keep a vigilant eye on things. I know a couple of staff members in the home didn't like me because I spoke up.

After two lovely sunny days we have gone back to cold and overcast :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 19 Oct 2014 23:08

Sue there is always a qualified nurse on duty. I think that is the law due to all the medicines administered.
Each resident has a "panic button" to call for help, but I doubt the Duchess would remember this.

SueMaid Report 19 Oct 2014 23:02

How funny Sylvia - we can laugh knowing he wasn't hurt :-D

Are there nurses in the home Tec or are they care workers? The home my father was in had a small staff of nurses and could also call in an after hours doctor and of course an ambulance. The advantage of living in a small city.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 19 Oct 2014 22:54

Youngsters like you Sue have all that ahead of you many years from now ;-)

Good job your OH wasn't hurt Sylvia, but that was funny, good job you were there :-D

Tecwyn Report 19 Oct 2014 22:51

No doctor was called, but being Sunday there wouldn't be one available.

There is an out of hours service, but just one doctor covers the whole county, and could be anywhere, miles away.

I f necessary sometimes they will call an ambulance to get you into A&E, though that's 45 miles away.

I will phone in the morning to see if they think a doctor is needed.

Did I tell you OH fell out of bed the other week??

It was really quite funny

I went to the loo in the middle of the night. I did hear a bit of a thump while I was in there.

Then, when I came out, the room is in complete darkness, and this little voice is saying "I fell out of bed. I bumped my head"

I looked and looked, and couldn't see where the voice was coming from .................. then I realised that the duvet and a pillow were moving slowly across the bed :-)

he was on the floor by the side of the bed, and pulling them towards him.

I actually had to wake him up to get him back into bed ................... he was trying to cover himself up on the floor :-)

He was fine

Goodnight Linda - sorry we didn't get to chat <3

I have a flu jab because it's necessary for my volunteer job as does OH. I get mine done at the hospital and have done for years. I think it's over 65's here. I don't think we qualify for the pneumonia shot yet. I'm very young so haven't really thought about it ;-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 19 Oct 2014 22:47

Goodnight Linda - sleep well.

I think I've been vaccinated for everything under the sun, due to visiting strange places, though I expect they've all expired now, not that I'm planning to visit any weird places now :-D

I am sure that you must be worried about the Duchess ............ especially as you know how she suffers with her chest.

Did the home call for a doctor to check her out after her fall?

Hi Sue xx

Night night Linda xx

enjoy your book

SylviaInCanada Report 19 Oct 2014 22:43

we don't have such restrictive ages to have our shingles jabs ........... just a general "over the age of ...."

I've just googled the rule for here ................ recommended for people 60 years of age and older, although anyone 50 years of age and older can get the vaccine.

Only 1 dose is needed for protection ......... which is just like the pneumonia vaccine

It IS expensive!

the flu and pneumonia jabs are free, covered by the province's medicare plan.

I think the shingles one can cost between $125 - 200

Good Morning Sue,

I expect Linda has eaten all the chocolate, but she did share it with her OH - well that's what she said.

I am rather worried about the Duchess, she looked very frail today, and was in bed.

Sorry about that Sylvia, I don't know why it decided to put the end of the sentence at the beginning. I had to edit it

SueMaid Report 19 Oct 2014 22:38

Did you save some chocolate for me or did Linda get my share :-|

I'm so sorry to read about the Duchess's fall. You must be quite worried at the moment Tec :-(

We haven't moved house for 37 years. I dread the thought of it.
