I will suggest that to SIL Linda if he hasn't done anything about it yet.
he works in Birmingham so should find a shop nearby. Good Idea.

Well I'm off to bed now, have to be in town for 9am.

Hope the knee is better tomorrow Linda,

Enjoy your day Sue,
Goodnight,
Tec :-)

If it is the charger, can't your SIL use a universal charger to see if it works, or take it into a phone shop and ask them to try one of their chargers. If it charges you can buy a new charger on Ebay very cheaply

Tecwyn Report 14 Oct 2014 23:11

SIL contacted Amazon, and that is what he was told.
The £60 is recorded delivery of course, but I think the insurance is a bit steep.

As you say Sue, seems hardly worth the hassle. I actually think it was the charger at fault, not the machine

No - this is through Medicare (our NHS).

Doesn't appear to be worth sending off, Tec :-(

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Oct 2014 23:08

That is silly Tec, surely Amazon are responsible for the repairs not you as it is under guarantee

Tecwyn Report 14 Oct 2014 23:06

I think I told you that my tablet died after very little use. My SIL who got it on my behalf bought it through Amazon, but it came from Poland and has to be returned there. Postage £60, and if you want to insure it £100 :-0

Sorry Sue, it was the predictive text again, I had already changed it

Of course we have the option of private health care through Bupa, or similar, but would see the same doctors and specialists, just quicker.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Oct 2014 22:57

I suppose the difference is that Sues insurance pays for it

Tecwyn Report 14 Oct 2014 22:54

Linda's been at the Cola Coca again :-D

My mother?!?

Tecwyn Report 14 Oct 2014 22:50

You can wait ages for an MRI scan here, unless it's obviously very urgent.
They didn't even have time to remove that filter in my jugular vein while I still in hospital.
Should have been removed soon after surgery, but I waited to be sent for after I was home, by which time it was too late as it had become embedded into the wall of the vein and they couldn't get it out. So I'm stuck with it, and the risks involved .

Hopefully your weather will pick up soon Sue

SueMaid Report 14 Oct 2014 22:39

We seem to have the opposite here with GP's now being able to send patients to have MRI's and other big tests that are often not needed. OH's specialist told him a simple scan and X-Ray would have been enough.

My son has just sent me a message to say he is sitting outside with a cup of coffee in brilliant sunshine. Typical :-(

You are right Linda about not hurrying the NHS.
I have been waiting for an appointment with the Urologist in Shrewsbury since February, and have now got one for the end of this month. Eight months.

Good Morning Sue,

It was quite a pleasant day here, a little cool, but I spent several hours in the garden while my brother was working out there.

Good that Maisie got cuddles with your son while you were away - he probably had no option :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Oct 2014 22:32

You should know you can't rush the NHS Tec

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 14 Oct 2014 22:31

I know Linda - all six foot five of him cuddling a little dog :-D

I also think you should have been sent for a scan. Apart from a temporary improvement your knee doesn't seem to be getting much better :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 14 Oct 2014 22:27

So you don't have to go out?

You can't very well go out if you can't rely on your knee, apart from the pain in trying to walk.

I think you should have been sent for a scan straight away.

Hello Sue, I laughed at the thought of your son cuddling Maisie
