Linda, TPPA is the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement. It is allegedly just a free trade agreement, but apparently only 9 of the clauses cover free trade. In other clauses any big businesses can sue our government if our govt passes any bills which restrict their trade, e.g. Monsanto and their Genetic engineering or G. modified organisms. Our govt cant sue them. But we could be fined a huge amount by some tribunal overseas. I think there is a similar agreement proposed for your part of the world. It is all designed by big businesses to control things to suit themselves. Our govt has been trying to keep it all under wraps as they know we will object. Our PM is not known as the smiling assassin for nothing.

I didn't realise you were going so soon Sue, you are forgiven in that case. I hope you have a lovely time with your son and Aiden.

What is TTPA Huia?

I am safely back home.

P1 day is my first protest day. There was an Ageing Expo in Pukekohe (held every year) and I decided it would be a good venue for a protest against TPPA, so I waited until one lot of scheduled entertainers left the stage, then walked on before anybody else was announced, held up my sign "Say NO to TPPA" and said good afternoon in a loud voice, then what the sign said, then I said if the government signed it we would lose our sovereignty, and I flipped the sign over to "Save our sovereignty" and then said don't let them sign TPPA and turned the sign over again and said Say NO to TPPA. As there was no sign of anybody coming to hustle me off I then thanked them and left the stage. Unfortunately with so many people talking at the other end of the hall, not everybody could hear me. One woman came up to the men on the sound system and asked what TPPA is and they promptly turned the sound up so it was screeching out of the loud speaker, as they saw me nearby. Trying to suppress me, I guess, but another woman who was minding my bag (she also took a photo of me) and I told her. I think the organisers were too stunned at my audacity to butt into proceedings. :-D :-D :-D Watch this space for P2. ;-)

I expect your daughter will want to rearrange your kitchen cupboards again

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 9 Oct 2014 22:37

They should flower eventually then. The flowers seem to last for ages, several weeks.

I think you can buy them from specialist nurseries on the internet, but they are never seen in garden centres.

I will be back working in the bedroom tomorrow, then my daughter and SIL are coming on Saturday, staying overnight.

It will be a nice surprise to see what happens when they flower. We split the plant and they both look fine

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 9 Oct 2014 22:29

One of those plants of the type I gave you has a huge orange flower on it. I wish I had given you that one now, but there was no way of knowing at the time

I do find myself having such odd conversations.

It stopped pouring with rain this afternoon thank goodness.

I have a lot of crocus and tete a tete bulbs to plant up in pots. Time is getting on.
