Well done Gwen, make good use of it as we do ours, we do only go locally but go into town much more than we would if we had to pay parking fees.

Congrats on the card Dizzi.

My wife and I say there are only 2 benefits about growing older, Bus Passes and Grandkids !

We have a car but started using the bus last year for local trips. Got to admit you need to live in a place that has a good bus service, which we do. Bus every ten minutes to the hospital and during the day the services to other parts of town are good, although they tail off in the evening. We also have an express service which takes us to Derby, 12 miles away. Only takes 25 minutes, drops us right in the city centre and we don't have to park.

We used to use £20 of fuel a week, now £30 lasts almost a month.

Enjoy it while you can , when the politicians work out that we are actually saving money on the scheme they will tax it or find ways of curtailing it. After all we are just peasants, not MPs on expense accounts.
