did the royal mint when they changed the coin design not think how us parents are going to teach our children what coin is what they have taken the numbers off of them.
so now its the little silver one and the small silver funny shaped one

due to the fact also that they have started leaving the dates off........
how will we know when the money has passed its use by date?

Thank you Dawnie,for putting up this post.I'm an Aussie just back from a
5 week trip to the UK.I had awful trouble with your coins for the same reason-no numbers on them-I was just getting used to the money when I was coming home,Our Australian coins are very user-friendly,and have large ,clear numbers which are easily seen on the coins,and our native animals,so they are quite distinctive.Our notes are great too.

If you find it hard teaching your children the values of English coins,imagine the trouble that visitors and tourists have!

I had a great time in the UK though,you have a beautiful country.
