I'd only be using it as an extension of my PC, and so I can reaquaint myself with my sofa lol

I found one that I liked a lot and had good reviews - spoke to the suppliers about my queries which were all answered, and got myself a wee bargain - should arrive tomorrow :O))

I'm on my Samsung one (the one I won) now sweets and yes it runs everything really well, downsides are the size of the screen and having no disk drive so you can't load Family Tree software etc without buying a seperate drive.

I'm not really sure McAnne. I love my lappy and it does everything a full-size PC does for me, but completely portable, so it's fine.

I think people who perhaps use other applications more,like word for writers, will use a netbook.

Whichever you use, make sure you get one with a decent battery. Mine only lasts an hour, but as I'm here most of the time it's not a problem, but I would have liked a four hour battery really.

AFAIK the new generation are just as good as high spec laptops. Google for forums and get the latest user opinions for best buys.

as opposed to a Laptop?


I'm looking into getting one but am wondering if they have the capacity to run things like iTunes, and particularly Facebook applications, cos I like to chill out and play on there a lot..........


Can anyone advise if one would work for my needs??
