Turned on the computer earlier and there was this list of Trojan alerts.

Pressed the red button and zapped them.

Phoned my friend and he remotely accessed my computer and said I was lucky.

The little beggers hadn't slipped in behind any of my programmes.

He says it is a virus which slips in through google and hides in your computer somewhere and then causes havoc.

Nothing is sacred these days.

It's a bit unfair to blame Google for Trojans...they can come from any site or advertising that appears on your screen. It more than likely came from a pop-up or pop-under rather than Google.

Trojans are viruses, but like the name suggests, they are disguised as something innocent, until access is made to your system.

Worms are similar but they seem to 'burrow' into an advert or website and pop up where you least expect them.

Virus's are what they are, no disguise, no frills.

Good stanalone program to have is Malwarebytes anti-malware.
It's free & picked up over 30 of the blighters on my brothers work computer.
He uses AVG free & that didn't pick up even half of them.
Malwarebytes also picked up a nasty one called a registry bot.
