recently some very kind people on this site helped me to see for myself that it was time to retire. Well, their advice was sound and I am enjoying life ,however I have decided that I need something to keep the grey matter alive and am seriously thinking of studying on line a course on family history reseaerch because I do not live in UK It would be the easiest option.
So any suggestions anyone, has anyone done this who are willing to share their experience.?

Hello Frances

Oh yes I am very aware of just how addictive this can be. First started a few years ago and the tree now has many branches, tigs and new spouting everyday. I have made contact with may relatives abrod. I use both Ancetstry and Genes reunited but somehow have got into amuddle on Ancestry and seem to have duplicates on trees> Problem being that when I was working away from home often did research in the wee hours of the night simply to try a nd relax!!! HA HA I can hear you say.

Also I am very recently retired having worked from the age of 18 Now 63 and before that whilst at school so not working is rather daunting!! Also I am intersted in the history of the times not simply the research of the branches of the family and yes you have guessed I can ramble on for ever.

so will stop now

Thanks to you all for the messages.

Because I live in a part of Spain where we do not have our post delivered and the local post office has run out of boxes, yes that is true, we do not have a reguar post. Hence can only buy mags when in UK or when friends and family visit. So I thought that an online course would be wrth a try

LD I am going to try the organisation you suggested I will keep you informed.

Thanks

Bridget
