Its been a really lovely day here in Medway area of Kent ,Very warm but with a bit of a breeze BUT we had to switch the TV off during New Tricks cos it started lightning and thunder and its been lashing down.
Our hedgehog visitor that has been in the tortoises house since Monday and cant get out of the sunken patio has rushed back home .Pity cos we were hoping to catch him and release him back onto the higher part of the garden so he could go home .
Its still lashing down now

Hi Shirley, it's quire spectacular here on the East Sussex border, too.

The amusing thing is that I have washing on the line that has been there 8 days: I took OH away for a birthday treat last weekend. Two grown up sons didn't bring the laundry in. While we were away I injured my ankle so I have been on bed rest all week.

I am past caring about the boys' shirts!!! Guess they are going to get an extra rinse.

Hi Annie
Hope you keeping well. been doing some more family searches and found a son of Isaac and Sophia Harvey nee Wood ,daughter of Harriet Chaney , that I didnt know existed. He & his brother Edward are staying as visitors on the 1881 census with James & Martha Clark. now we know the Cl arks married into the Chaney family.
Fun ain't it !!
Shirley
By the way folks Annie & I are related through the Essex Chaney family in case anyone is wondering why I am wattling on

Hi Helen
Problem is the rain aint clean!! guess when you can rescue the shirts you may have to rewash them,
We have made the mistake of buying a new patio set and the table has a glass top, every time its rains the glass is pitted with dirty water so when it dries i have to take out a wet clothand clean it and the dry again otherwise it looks awful. Would have been better to stick with the plastic one I think

Shirley.OMG we just bought a glass-topped patio set!!

I bought glass cleaner wipes from B and Q - for my windows _ but m-i-l showed me how effective they were on table tops! Excellent.

Shirts - they can wash their own.

Thunderstorm was short and sharp here not far from Folkestone.
It's still raining a bit, but we really need that in this area.... preferably at night though !
Huge dry cracks had started to appear in our grass.

Hope you slept through it Frances, but there was thunder and lightening a short while after midnight, here in Norwich, so I stayed off the computer till it stopped, now I am all behind altho did manage to catch up with some stuff I had recorded on dvd recorder. Risked keeping the tv on, it's only an old one.

My hedgehogs haven't been round for a couple of nights, since I got a pic of one of them feeding. Hope they come back soon. I keep putting food out but then the birds have it during the day and I have to put fresh out the next night, of course.

One in Chelmsford at 10.00 followed by another at, I think, 2.30.

There was a tremendous clap of thunder, the lights over the bed came on on their own and the dogs both started barking.
