why is there no 1881 cenus on Genes Reun

Can somebody please tell me why there no 1881 cenus or 1911 as we seem to be paying but there no upgrade .......marie |

The license to reproduce the 1911 census costs over 4 million pounds, once you've paid that you then have to pay many people over many months to transcribe and digitise the data, then you have to create the website and put it all online, a massive time consuming and very expensive project, one company has done this but as part of the licensing deal no other company can have access to the data for 6 months after the last transcribed page goes online. |
